Leonard Ellis founded Ellis Jewelers in 1952 in downtown Lexington, North Carolina. He established Ellis Jewelers with the morals, values and intimacy of a family business. In 1978, Len DeFelice purchased the business from the Ellis family, but made it a first priority to uphold the comforts that can only be offered by a family business.
In 2008 Tim Hiatt purchased Ellis Jewelers from Len after working and managing Ellis Jewelers since 1980. Tim is also past President of the North Carolina Jewelers Association and Southern Jewelers Alliance and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Jewelers Association. Today, Ellis Jewelers has two convenient locations in North Carolina: Lexington, and Kernersville. Each of these locations has onsite repair services, and one on one personal customer service.
